UK Autumn Statement 2023 - a missed opportunity for the housing market?

The UK government’s Autumn Statement failed to deliver significant tax and regulation changes directly benefitting the housing market, but provided other measures which may create more upbeat ‘mood music’ for investors in general and landlords in particular.

There was a strong focus on attracting competitive investment into the UK which Chanceller Jeremy Hunt said would fund some of the (unexpected) tax cuts benefiting UK employees and the self-employed and senior citizens receiving a state pension.
