The Premier League meets Premier Properties

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Chelsea Football Match

So, Wimbledon’s over, the school holidays have well and truly arrived and the summer weather isn’t quite living up to expectations. Fear not, readers, there is hope just around the corner in the form of the Premier League which returns on Saturday 8th August.

Here at Benham and Reeves Estate Agents, we’re getting behind the London teams, hoping they can bring glory to the Capital.

Join us as we look ahead to the new season and what it has in store, while also pointing you in the direction of some of the most sought-after rental properties in the areas represented by London’s most famous football clubs.

Ready for kick-off?

It’s only right we start with last years’ champions: Chelsea. The South-West London club stormed to the title last season, and although you might think the reason behind their success was because of Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho (a former tenant of ours), we think the real reason is down to all the premier properties in Chelsea and surrounding areas. Living in such comforts surely bred success on the pitch.

It’s not hard to imagine a footballer living in this stylish three bedroom apartment at the 375 Kensington High Street development, just a couple of miles outside of Chelsea. However, if the £1,150 per week rental price is out of your range, you can still enjoy fashionable amenities, shopping and dining in the same shops and restaurants as the players in this smart one bedroom apartment on Sloane Avenue.

In fact, Chelsea is such a desirable area to live that former players including Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole still own homes there, despite now playing for clubs in the USA and Italy respectively.

Pretenders to the crown

Highbury Stadium Square GardenChelsea won’t have it all their own way this season, with a strong challenge expected from their North London rivals, Arsenal. The Gunners already have one up on the reigning champions, signing Chelsea’s world-class keeper Petr Cech for just over £10m pounds. Many are expecting Arsenal to mount a serious challenge this season, with hope they’ll finally bring the Premier League crown back to North London for the first time in 11 years.

What better way to show your support for the Gunners than renting a property in the Highbury Stadium Square development? As true fans will know, this development used to be the football ground for Arsenal before they moved into their 60,000-seater stadium literally around the corner in 2006.

Highbury Stadium Square is designed around a two-acre landscaped garden which was home to the former pitch. Surrounding is a selection of one and two bedroom apartments with floor-to-ceiling windows leading out to private balconies, many with views of the luxury communal gardens. Rentals start from £350 per week. Contact our Highgate office for more information.

Representing the East

While Chelsea and Arsenal might be the two clubs expected to make the most waves this season, we can’t forget some of the other London teams representing the Premier League in 2015/16. West Ham, from East London, will be playing their last season at Upton Park before moving to the Olympic Stadium, close to Stratford, next year.

East London has seen lots of regeneration over the last 10 years, and thanks to a successful hosting of the Olympics in 2012 – , it’s now a highly desirable area to live in London. With the introduction of Crossrail to Leytonstone in 2018 and the booming financial sector in Canary Wharf, properties are in high demand. This two bedroom apartment in Canary Wharf, E14 has access to a private balcony via large floor-to-ceiling windows.

Pan Peninsula is a dynamic development, moments from Canary Wharf, planned with your luxury in mind. The development offers a selection of individually designed studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments. Other benefits include a state of the art health suite, waterside restaurants, 50th floor cocktail lounge and a private cinema room, so you can enjoy West Ham’s games on one of the biggest screens of all with your fellow Hammers fans. Rentals start from £330 per week.

Don’t forget the West

Kew Bridge WestA quick mention has to go to Brentford. Although they won’t be playing in the Premier League this year, they came so close last season only losing out in the play-offs. This year they’ll be hoping to gain promotion to the big time and we’ll certainly be rooting them on. Brentford is the location of some of London’s finest developments: Kew Bridge West and the GWQ developments which combine leafy tranquillity with sleek, modern designs, offering quality that is fit for the Premier League. Rentals start from £335 per week. Contact our Ealing office for more information.

It’s not just the football that promises to deliver excitement and thrills this season.
