West London property explodes with new investment

With a thriving economy, good schools, sophisticated neighbourhoods that ooze with architectural splendour, there is a lot of store in the old term “West is best” which seems very fitting here.

Having worked in London property for just over 25 years, I continue to be fascinated by the ever-changing skyline. In particular, the property landscape on the Western fringes of the Capital which has totally changed with relatively unknown locations fast becoming popular rental hotspots. And below are just some of our favourite schemes right now and why we believe they are ripe with investment potential.

Good long-term growth

West London property prices have experienced steadfast growth over the last ten years due to extensive regeneration by property developers and huge infrastructure improvements to community and transport links. With the arrival of the multi-billion-pound Crossrail network, this trend certainly looks set to continue. According to Rightmove, one of the UK’s largest property portals, even in the ‘Brexit-fuelled’ sales market of 2019, house prices in West London were up 3% up on the previous year; most sales were apartments, which on average, sold for a staggering £897,067. And with emerging locations making themselves known on the western fringes of London, there are beneficial knock-on effects with schemes that look like and enjoy the same high-quality specification and amenities as their central-London neighbours and with upwardly projected growth and good rental yields.
