Benham & Reeves sales & lettings to re-unite under one roof

Leading independent lettings agent, Benham & Reeves Estate Agents, has acquired the rights to use the full Benham & Reeves name for sales alongside its existing lettings business. The two companies have shared the Benham & Reeves name for the last 60 years but have operated entirely separately after the two sides of the company split several decades ago. The move follows the acquisition and rebranding of the existing sales business of Benham & Reeves by estate agency Dexters.

This will bring together the Benham & Reeves Residential Lettings and Benham & Reeves brands for the first time in many years. Previously, Benhams Ltd (Benham & Reeves) handled sales and Benham & Reeves Residential Lettings was restricted to handling only lettings. Now, Benhams Ltd will cease to trade under the Benham & Reeves brand and its sales business, including its four North London branches, will soon be rebranded to Dexters.

The lettings business, which is independently owned with 16 branches across London and five international offices, will in due course, offer both sales and lettings as one company, known as Benham & Reeves.

Commenting on the acquisition, Anita Mehra, Managing Director of Benham & Reeves Residential Lettings, said: “I am delighted to have acquired the rights to use the Benham & Reeves name for sales as well as lettings as I have for a long time wished to see the two companies return to one, single, independent ownership. While the two sides of the company shared the same name, they separated several decades ago but now we are reuniting the 60 year old name and company heritage with one, clearly identifiable brand. Unifying the brand under one roof has obvious advantages and will create new opportunities for our business.”
