As part of its longstanding partnership with its chosen charity, Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Benham & Reeves Residential Lettings hosted a glittering event on 6 October at The Cumberland Hotel in central London. The dinner and auction was a huge success and raised nearly £45,000 for the charity. The mountaineer Nick Talbot, who next year will become the first person living with cystic fibrosis to attempt Mount Everest, delivered an inspiring speech to the assembled guests.

The evening got off to a great start with Cystic Fibrosis Trust partnerships manager Jacqueline Rogers encouraging all the guests to participate in a rousing red and yellow card challenge which eventually whittled down the coloured card holders in the room to one lucky winner of a spa weekend donated by Champneys. Further games ensued with the raffle proving especially exciting thanks to a host of spectacular donations. The auction, hosted by renowned property auctioneer Andrew Binstock, raised even more funds.

The evening’s entertainment was provided by ‘Strings & Things’, who provided a beautiful music accompaniment during the champagne reception, and by the Bravo Singing Waiters, who got the entire audience singing along to renditions of ‘That’s Amore’ and ‘New York, New York’. The breathtaking floral arrangements were kindly donated by Mala and complemented by sumptuous table favours from Italian chocolatier Venchi who have a branch in Hampstead close to Benham & Reeves’ head office.

The event was part of a series of fundraising efforts hosted by Benham & Reeves Residential Lettings in aid of Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Over the last year, the agent has hosted coffee and cake baking mornings, hosted auctions and one member of staff even ran The London Marathon in aid of the charity.

Anita Mehra, MD of Benham & Reeves Residential Lettings comments, “It gave us great pleasure to host this fundraiser in aid of our chosen charity. We want to thank everyone who attended for their outpouring of warmth and support, especially Vertex Pharmaceuticals who are not only developing ground breaking treatments for cystic fibrosis but which also donated very generously that evening. The event surpassed our greatest expectations in terms of fundraising. It continues to be our pleasure to support such a worth while charity which doesn’t receive any Government funding.”
