Holborn means a hollow stream in Old English, and this central London area provides a glimpse of the capital from centuries ago. While pubs like the Cittie of Yorke in Grade II listed buildings have been famous for serving customers since the 15th century, the streets have featured in numerous blockbusters, including the Harry Potter series.

The Royal Opera House is another significant landmark at the edge of this district in Camden. Favoured by lawyers and professionals working in the City, Holborn is an attractive Zone 1 neighbourhood brimming with history. The area is home to several key landmarks of London, including The Royal Courts of Justice, The British Museum and Charles Dickens Museum.

Bloomsbury Square and Lincoln's Inn Fields are famous public squares providing a breath of fresh air in the bustling cityscape of central London. For students, Holborn is a sought-after destination owing to its proximity to top university campuses such as UCL, Birkbeck and LSE.

With five Underground stations within a half-mile radius and Tottenham Court Road Station on the Elizabeth Line, Holborn is well-connected to the City and beyond. When buying properties, the EC and WC postcodes of the area stand out for their high-spec apartments with luxurious interiors and stunning views of the capital.

We have a branch on Fleet Street in the City, less than a mile from Holborn, and our property agents who live locally are experts in the area. Get in touch if you are looking to buy, sell, let or rent a property in Holborn.
