East Finchley stands out as one of North London's few areas renowned for its distinct character and charm. The vibrant East Finchley High Street hosts independent shops, restaurants and bistros, with the Phoenix Cinema — London's oldest independent cinema — at its centre.

The architectural landscape in this area is diverse, comprising Victorian and Edwardian homes alongside 1930s properties and modern developments, particularly within the northern extension of Hampstead Garden Suburb. Residents are surrounded by abundant green spaces, including Cherry Tree Woods, Big Wood, Highgate Woods, Hampstead Heath and Golders Hill Park. Families are drawn to East Finchley for its selection of independent and state primary and secondary schools.

Investors can choose from various properties in East Finchley, from 19th-century terraces to modern-day council estates and the multi-million-pound mansions of The Bishop's Avenue or the Billionaires' Row. East Finchley Tube station offers a quick service to central London

Benham & Reeves' Hampstead office is the go-to resource for those interested in buying or renting in East Finchley. Conveniently situated nearby, our agents offer a wealth of local knowledge and expertise — whether you're an investor looking for a property with solid rental returns or a tenant seeking a well-connected neighbourhood.

Where in London do you live? North London at the moment.

What do you like most about working in Hampstead as an area? Properties in Hampstead have a wealth of character and a distinctive charm, unlike anywhere else in London. I enjoy the quaint village lifestyle, while being so close to central London.

Tell me something about your career and what key skills you now bring to your role? Although I graduated from University as an Aerospace Engineer, I discovered my true calling when I did a stint as a Property Negotiator during my gap year. Since then I have gained good career experience working in the residential lettings sector for several years where I have developed a good understanding of the property sector and how it ticks.

What are your passions outside work? I am passionate about travel, health and fitness. I enjoy playing football and am a proud Manchester United fan!
Where do you currently live? I’m living in Temple, which is in Tube zone 1.

What do you like most about the Hampstead and surrounding areas? I liken Hampstead to a snow-globe as it has lots of charm combined with every modern convenience, all in one area. It’s very unique plus the Heath and the swimming ponds make it extra special. Other nearby areas such as West Hampstead and Golders Green are also very nice. There is a nice mix of old and new homes to suit most budgets.

Tell me a little about your property career & experience? Following my graduation in Real Estate and Property Management I joined a UK developer gaining invaluable experience in new homes sales and land acquisition. I’m a good communicator and quite sociable, so being a negotiator suits me and I enjoy a public facing role.

What are your passions outside work and how do you relax? Near where I live, there are so many different activities I can take part in such as dining out, enjoying live music and playing Padel which is perfect for keeping me fit, I also enjoy watching football.
What does your day to day? My role entails monitoring and mitigating compliance risk by ensuring we observe appropriate regulatory and legal requirements in all aspects of our business.

What are your key skills and what do you like most about your role? I find that an organised approach and a forensic attention to detail are vital attributes in my job. It’s not uncommon for me to reinvestigate a document that has already been double or triple checked! My work also overlaps with many other parts of the company, so I get to work collaborate with other employees which I really enjoy.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes is a weekly passion. I also take plenty of opportunities to travel.
Where do you live? I live in North London where the Victorian architecture is so beautiful.

What do you like most about working in property? London has a rich history and I feel this is really reflected in the properties it has to offer. There are so many different types of property too which you don't get in all parts of the world. I love the cobbled streets and mews that can be found in the backwaters of London.

What is your favourite local cafe or bar? I love my cocktails, Alice House in West Hampstead is a hidden gem. The cocktails are amazing and staff are super friendly.

What are your passions outside work? Keeping fit and healthy is very important to me and I love cooking, particularly experimenting with different recipes.

Where do you live? I currently live in Pinner, Middlesex which is an outer suburb of North West London.

What do you like most about the properties in North West London? On the basis of their architectural variety and historical interest alone, my favourite are Hampstead properties which are almost unmatched anywhere in London. The way in which charming period properties have been integrated with newer homes gives the neighbourhood plenty of choice and a great village feel. Close proximity to Hampstead Heath while, at the same time, being only 20 minutes away from the West End is another major plus point.

Tell us a little about your property career? Having been in the North London property business for nearly 35 years, I have had the advantage of working with, and alongside, many talented and respected individuals. My early years as a sales negotiator were spent in Mill Hill until I left to join Benham & Reeves Sales under its former owners. Now with the sales and lettings businesses under one roof and the ownership of Anita Mehra, it’s good to be resuming my Associate Director position and heading up the North London sales team.

What are your passions outside work and how do you relax? Being a passionate West Ham United supporter, I endeavour to attend every home match. I enjoy Bikram hot yoga, overseas travel and working on my (admittedly shaky) golf game. My wife and I love taking long country walks and being surrounded by nature.
What do you like most about the properties in Hampstead? I love period architecture. The richness of history is evident in the Victorian and Georgian properties that you encounter throughout the NW3 postcode. I grew up and still live in the area and so it’s quite refreshing to see some of the modern buildings coming on stream too.

Tell us a little about your property career? I have been an estate agent for approximately 25 years mainly in Hampstead and neighbouring areas working for a few well-known companies at senior level. I’ve been a member of the NAEA (National Association of Estate Agents) for approximately 15 years.

What are your passions outside work and how do you relax? Keeping fit and having a sharp mind is important to me so I play tennis and squash locally and also practice Hot Yoga in Primrose Hill. Seeing family and friends and relaxing with a good book, walks on the Heath, watching sporting events and appreciating good culture is all part of how I wind down.
What is your favourite part of London? Hammersmith – it’s one of the best places in West London for live music, riverside strolls and taking in the river views from a pub terrace along the way.

What key skills do you bring to your role? My strongest attribute is my determination. I take on every challenge head-on and do what I need to accomplish my goals, even when the challenge is difficult. I enjoy communicating with people and developing my soft skills.

What are your passions outside work for relaxation? I love dancing salsa! For me, it’s a great way of keeping fit and complements a healthy lifestyle, both physically and emotionally. Benefits include keeping me in a good mood which the sales team seem to appreciate!
Where do you currently live? I live in a quiet suburb of West London.

What do you like most about the area where you work? Hampstead is such a pretty place to work.  The village is very well served by all amenities as well as artisan eateries and pubs. The architecture is mainly period and of course the Heath provides plenty of green space to unwind and enjoy.

Tell me a little about your property career & experience? Though recent to the real estate industry, my time spent working as an office administrator has allowed me to bring transferable skills to my role and Benhams. I’m organised and have good document management and IT skills and I’m also adaptable which is needed working alongside such a busy sales team.

What are your passions outside work and how do you relax? I enjoy archery every weekend and sometimes I also participate in some club competitions. It really helps me mentally whilst providing a full body workout at the same time.
