Dulwich is a leafy haven in South London that combines the serenity of a countryside village with convenient access to Central London. This area is divided into East Dulwich, West Dulwich and Dulwich Village, each offering its distinct character.

Investors will find an interesting mix of properties, including Georgian townhouses, Victorian terraces and Arts and Crafts homes surrounded by lush green spaces dating back to the 16th century. From the tranquil walks of Dulwich Park to the wild beauty of Dulwich and Sydenham Hill Woods, this area attracts families and professionals seeking a peaceful retreat without compromising convenience.

Education is another major draw for families to move here. Dulwich is home to three of London’s most prestigious independent schools, including Dulwich College, James Allen’s Girls’ School and Alleyn’s School. State schools such as Dulwich Hamlet Junior School and Kingsdale Foundation School also ensure a strong academic foundation.

Despite its village charm, commuters in Dulwich benefit from excellent transport links. North Dulwich station (Zone 2) is a short walk from Dulwich Village, connecting to London Bridge in 17 minutes. West Dulwich station is ideal for fast services to Victoria. Nearby bus routes connect Dulwich to Brixton, Aldgate and Tottenham Court Road.

For those considering this area, Dulwich offers countryside living complete with duck ponds, Grade II-listed pubs and charming High Streets brimming with independent boutiques, cafes and artisan shops. However, it’s all just 30 minutes from London’s bustling centre. For investors, Dulwich is best for pulling in strong rental yields and long-term property value growth.

At Benham & Reeves, we’re committed to helping you find your dream property in Dulwich. Our nearest office, in Woolwich, is here to serve you. Our experienced agents will provide you with personalised advice and tailored support.

Where do you live? I am Malaysian Chinese and moved to the UK some years ago and at the moment, I live in Surrey, close to the river and surrounded by beautiful countryside.

What do you like most about Woolwich? Woolwich is well connected to both of London's financial hubs and the area has a good mix of modern architecture and carefully restored Grade II listed buildings. Royal Arsenal Riverside is a pivotal part of local life with commanding views of the Thames. It has a strong community spirit and is surrounded by great amenities so it’s a great place to live and to work.

What are your passions outside work? My true passion is cars and racing. Back in Malaysia I used to compete in the 12 hour Endurance Race in Sepang. I was also a team manager for the Bridgestone racing team. I also love getting out with the family at weekends.
Where do you currently live? I have lived here in Woolwich for the last 17 years.

What do you like most about working in the Woolwich area? Woolwich is home to a diverse community and has really been transformed with the introduction of Royal Arsenal Riverside. Connectivity with the rest of London is excellent with four main transport links into central London, Kent, Essex and the opposite side of the River. There’s a good mix of gastro pubs and restaurants along the riverside which adds variety to what is already a thriving modern urban neighbourhood.

Tell me a little about your property career? I began my property career in 2014 assisting with marketing and sales administration for an estate agent in nearby Charlton. I then moved into lettings and property management which I really enjoyed. I have lots of experience liaising with tenants and landlords throughout the renting process and enjoy meeting people from all walks of life so this role really suits me.

What are your passions outside work and how do you relax? I am a mother to five wonderful sons and grandmother to two adorable boys, so my family keep me on my toes which I wouldn’t change! When I do have time, I like to read or go for a nice stroll with my dog.

Where do you live? I've lived in East London for the last few years.

Tell us something about your career? I worked in finance for four years before joining Benham and Reeves in 2011 where I worked in the short lets department. My background in lettings puts me in a great position to spot a good investment property and I really enjoy working with homeowners and investors, helping them reach their purchase objectives.

And an interesting fact about yourself? I have an Engineering Degree from India and an MBA from Manchester but I love working in property and seeing new buildings go up in London which is exciting. It’s a great place to live and work.
What is your favourite part of London? Covent Garden for its buzz, the market and stunning architecture, it’s such a hidden gem.

What key skills do you bring to your role at B&R? I have worked in the property industry for seven years, first as a reservations manager for serviced apartments and then with Benham and Reeves as a lettings administrator which has helped form the ground work for my current role assisting the salesforce. Efficiency is my watch-word and I like to reflect this in all my tasks. I have a keen eye for detail and also enjoy taking on new challenges.

What are your passions outside work for relaxation? I love catching up with family and friends and my other passions are dance and singing in a London choir.
